About Me and My Approach
My Approach

In my therapy sessions, I employ a range of evidence-based mental health approaches to support my clients' diverse needs. My primary focus is on psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), positive psychology, mindfulness, and goal setting. These approaches are tailored to help clients manage and overcome challenges such as relationship difficulties, work-related stress, mood disorders, addictions, trauma, and abuse.

By integrating CBT, I assist clients in identifying and altering negative thought patterns and behaviours. Positive psychology techniques help clients build on their strengths and foster a more optimistic outlook. Mindfulness practices encourage present-moment awareness and stress reduction, while goal setting provides a structured path towards achieving personal and professional milestones.

With experience in workplace employee wellness programs, I also address organisational stress and enhance overall well-being. My approach is compassionate and client-centered, creating a safe and supportive environment for meaningful growth and healing.

About me

Hi There! My name is Sukaina Takim and I am the founder of Thrive Therapy. 

Recognising the significant gap in mental health care in Tanzania through my personal mental health struggles, I made the decision to transition my career to Psychology and Mental Health.

To equip myself with the necessary knowledge, skills, and expertise, I pursued a Master's program in Psychology and Counselling, graduating with a distinction.

Now, in my fifth year as a practicing Clinical

Psychologist and Mental Health Counsellor, I have successfully established a thriving practice in the therapy field.

The podcast is a six-part series that will be spread out over the year with a release every other month. 

Over the next few months, we made tweaks to my daily routine that had a lasting impact. I found peace amid my struggles and began viewing life’s challenges not as negatives, but as enriching experiences and a necessary part of life. Therapy transformed my outlook and equipped me with the resilience to face life’s obstacles.
